Bial Award in Biomedicine2025 Edition
The Bial Award in Biomedicine 2025 ceremony took place on February 24 at the Abel Salazar Building of the University of Porto, and it was attended by the Minister in the Cabinet of the Prime Minister and of State Reform, Gonçalo Matias, on behalf of the Prime Minister.
The Winning Work
A research work on the role of the gut microbiome in the effectiveness of cancer immunotherapy won the fourth edition of the Bial Award in Biomedicine. The winning team was led by scientists Laurence Zitvogel and Guido Kroemer from Gustave Roussy Institute, France.
