He is a Biologist and a Fellow at both the Institute of Noetic Sciences in California (USA), and Schumacher College (UK). From 2005 to 2010, he was the Director of the Perrott-Warrick project for research on unexplained human and animal abilities, funded by Trinity College, Cambridge University (UK). His research interests include morphogenesis, animal behavior, and unexplained phenomena like telepathy, the sense of being stared at, and premonitions. He is the author and co-author of several books, including “Dogs that know when their owners are coming home” (1999), “The science delusion” (2012), and “Science and spiritual practices” (2018).
He studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge (UK), Philosophy and History of Science at Harvard University (USA), and earned a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge.
He was a Fellow of Clare College, University of Cambridge, working in biochemistry and cell biology with funding from the Royal Society Rosenheim Research Fellowship. He worked as Principal Plant Physiologist, and later as a Consultant at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (India). He was also a Visiting Professor and Academic Director of the Holistic Thinking Program at the Graduate Institute in Connecticut (USA).
