Chris Roe, PhD

Director of the "Centre for Psychology & Social Sciences"
University of Northampton

He is a Professor of Psychology and the Director of the Centre for Psychology & Social Sciences at the University of Northampton (UK). His research interests include spirituality and well-being, psychic deception, the correlates of paranormal belief and experience, and experimental methods for investigating claims for extrasensory perception and psychokinesis.

He holds a degree in Biological Sciences and a PhD from the University of Edinburgh (UK), along with a master’s in Transpersonal Psychology & Consciousness Studies from the University of Northampton (UK).

Throughout his career, he has served as the Editor of the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research from 2003 to 2018, held the position of Perrott-Warrick Senior Researcher from 2015 to 2021, and was Chair of the British Psychological Society Transpersonal Psychology Section from 2015 to 2018. Additionally, he served as President of the Parapsychological Association from 2015 to 2017, President of the Society for Psychical Research from 2018 to 2021, and was appointed Vice President in 2021.
